How much does it cost to rent a bus in Singapore

The rates

Every rate depends on which bus you take. A one-way transfer is $85 on the 23 seater, $100 on the 45 seater, $110 on the 49 seater and $120 on the 50 seater.

Hourly hire runs $50, $60, $70 and $80 an hour for the same sizes, with a four hour minimum. So the cheapest hourly booking is $200 on a 23 seater, and a 49 seater for four hours is $280.

The figure we quote is the figure you pay. Nothing is added on top of it.

How much does a bus charter cost in Singapore?

A bus charter in Singapore costs $85 for a 23 seater, $100 for a 45 seater, $110 for a 49 seater and $120 for a 50 seater on a one way transfer. By the hour it is $50, $60, $70 and $80, with a four hour minimum. Bus charter and bus rental mean the same thing here, so these are the rates either way. Every figure includes the driver, fuel, ERP and parking.

Standard transfers, priced per trip

Standard transfers cover trips that do not touch the airport. Office to venue, hotel to restaurant, home to worksite.

VehicleSeatsOne wayTwo way (return)

45-seater coach45$100$200
49-seater coach49$110$220
50-seater coach

50$120$240

Airport transfers, priced separately

Anything running to or from Changi or Seletar uses this table instead. Airport rates are $20 higher than the standard transfer because they include 45 minutes of free waiting after landing and the driver tracks your actual flight.

Two way or airport return: which rate applies?

A two way transfer and an airport return get mixed up constantly, and the reason is an unlucky coincidence in the numbers. A standard two way on a 50 seater is $240. An airport return on a 45 seater is also $240. Same figure, completely different booking.

The short rule: if either leg touches an airport, the whole booking is priced at the airport rate. When you send us the details we will tell you which one applies before you confirm, so there is no surprise on the invoice.

Hourly hire, by bus size

Hourly hire is the part most quotes get vague about, so here it is in full. The hourly rate is per vehicle, and the minimum booking is four hours on every size.

VehicleSeatsPer hourMinimum 4 hours8 hours
23-seater minibus23$50$200$400
45-seater coach45$60$240$480
49-seater coach49$70$280$560
50-seater coach
Limited stock
50$80$320$640

Inside the booked hours the bus stays with your group. Unlimited stops, and no separate waiting charge. Extra time beyond your block is billed by the hour at the same rate. More detail on the hourly hire page.

Extras that do change the price

Five extras can be added to a transfer price, and nothing else is added after a trip.

ExtraWhen it appliesCharge
Additional stopAny pickup or set-down outside the quoted route. Not charged on hourly hire.$20 per stop
Midnight runningJob starts at 11pm or later, or ends between 11pm and 7am$20 per vehicle
Public holidayGazetted Singapore public holidays$30 per vehicle
Waiting beyond the free allowanceSee the waiting table below$15 per 15 minutes
Changi meet and greetRequested at booking, name board inside the arrival hall$20 per vehicle

How much free waiting do you get?

Every transfer includes some waiting at no charge. Airport arrivals get the most, because immigration and baggage are unpredictable.

Booking typeFree waitingAfter that
Airport arrival45 minutes from touchdown$15 per 15 minutes
Airport departure15 minutes$15 per 15 minutes
Point to point transfer15 minutes$15 per 15 minutes
Hourly hireThe whole booked blockNothing, extend by the hour instead

Once 45 minutes of chargeable waiting have built up, the job moves onto the four hour hourly minimum for that vehicle rather than continuing in quarter hours. Full wording is in the terms and conditions.

What is included, and what is not

Every quote covers the driver, fuel, ERP charges, parking and full vehicle insurance. Outside that figure sits only the short list of extras above, and nothing beyond them is added after the trip.

Included in every quote

  • The driver
  • Fuel for the whole route
  • ERP charges
  • Parking at pickup and drop-off
  • Full vehicle insurance
  • Free waiting on every transfer, 45 minutes on airport arrivals

Not included

  • Entry tickets or admission fees at attractions
  • A tour guide, unless you ask for one on a tour booking
  • Time beyond your booked hours on an hourly job

What moves the price up or down

Bus size sets the base figure. After that only the booking type and a short list of surcharges change it, and every one of them is listed on this page.

  • Vehicle size. The biggest single factor, and the reason every table above is split by size.
  • Transfer or hourly. One journey is cheaper than holding a bus for four hours.
  • Distance and duration. A cross-island run costs more than a short hop.
  • Extra stops and midnight running. $20 each, as above.
  • Number of vehicles. Groups over 50 need more than one bus.

What to check before you accept any bus quote

A price list only helps if the number on it is the number you pay. These are the three ways a quote stops matching the invoice, and the question that catches each one before you commit.

Charges appear that were never mentioned
What we doEvery figure on this page includes driver, fuel, ERP and parking. The only additions are the surcharges listed above, and they are published rather than mentioned afterwards.
Ask this of any quoteCan you list everything that could be added to this figure after the job?
The cheaper quote turns out to be for a smaller bus
What we doOur rates are split by vehicle size on purpose, so you can see exactly what you are comparing. A quote without a vehicle size stated is not comparable to anything.
Ask this of any quoteWhich vehicle size is this price for, and what does the next size up cost?
The rate changes between quote and invoice
What we doThe figure is fixed when you agree it. Payment terms are settled with you during the enquiry, before you confirm anything.
Ask this of any quoteIs this price fixed once agreed, and when are the payment terms set?

Final pricing may vary based on specific requirements, peak season surcharges, long-distance travel, or special requests. For monthly or daily hire, long-term contracts, or large events, contact us for a detailed quotation. Recurring routes are priced against your actual schedule rather than per trip. See monthly contracts.

Rough cost per person

A one-way transfer on a full bus works out at roughly:

VehicleIf fullPer person
23-seater at $8523 peopleabout $3.70
45-seater at $10045 peopleabout $2.20
49-seater at $11049 peopleabout $2.25
50-seater at $120 (limited stock)50 peopleabout $2.40

These are arithmetic on the transfer rates, not a quote. Your actual price depends on the factors above.

Common questions about bus rental prices

Are there hidden charges?

No. Driver, fuel, ERP and parking are in the quoted figure, and nothing is added on top. The only standard add-ons are $20 per extra stop and $20 per vehicle for midnight running, both shown above.

Do you charge GST?

No. Nothing is added to your quote or your invoice on top of the figure agreed.

Is it cheaper to book hourly or per transfer?

Two separate transfers usually cost less than a four hour block. On a 23 seater that is $170 against $200. Three or more stops almost always cost more, so hourly wins.

Do you charge more for public holidays?

Yes. Gazetted Singapore public holidays add $30 per vehicle, and trips running between 11pm and 7am add $20 per vehicle. Both appear in the quote, never afterwards.

Can I get a discount for a regular booking?

Yes. Once the same route runs most weekdays, a monthly contract is cheaper per run than booking trip by trip. Send us the schedule and we will price it.

Want a firm number?

Send the date, pickup, drop-off and headcount. Most quotes come back within 30 minutes.

Driver, fuel, ERP and parking are included, and no GST is added because we are not GST registered. Prefer the phone? Call +65 8065 3479.
