What to check before booking a bus in the north

Woodlands has one problem no other district has: the Causeway. Timing, access and cross-border expectations are the three things worth settling before you book anything up here.

Any route within a few kilometres of Woodlands Checkpoint is exposed to Causeway congestion, and not only at rush hour. Long weekends and the days either side of a public holiday can back traffic well into Woodlands Avenue.

We handle that by agreeing a gate arrival time and working backwards, building in buffer for the known bad periods rather than assuming a clear run. Drivers use alternative approaches into the industrial parks when the main road is blocked.

To be clear: we drive within Singapore only, and we do not cross the Causeway.
